Research Interests

In general, her researches are directed towards a multidisciplinary approach, including phytopathology, genetics and genomics to elucidate the interactions between the hosts and its pathogens focusing on cacao diseases, resistance, biology and population genetics of plant pathogens and genomics of plant-pathogens interactions. The goal is to try to elucidate how disease occurs and how the plant defend themself from the pathogen.



She is responsible for the coordination of the Molecular-Phytopathology lab at the Cocoa Research Center (CEPEC). This laboratory has different platforms including histopathology, fungal biology and molecular analyses using techniques as RT-qPCR and next generation sequencing.


Student supervision

He has supervised more than 6 pós-doc and  PhD students and 14 Masters Research students. Currently, he supervises 3 PhD students and 3 Master research students.
